Description | Between John Blake, Prior of the house and church of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Thomas the Martyr at New Place near Guildford, and Edward Newbe, chaplain. Newbe is leased their chapel of Pirbright with the houses, tithes and offerings appertaining, for the term of his life at an annual rent of two shillings. He is required to provide bread, wine, wax, frankincense and myrrh and all necessaries for the altar; to keep the chancel and houses in repair; and to serve the chapel himself unless ill or absent by special licence from the Prior. |
