TitleDiaries of Joan Money-Kyrle (1891-1983).
DescriptionThe years 1934 and 1979 are missing. Up to 1917, entries are often quite lengthy but those in the later diaries are generally brief and uninformative. She lived around Calne as a child and young woman but mostly lived in London after 1944. Entries mostly concern family affairs, excursions and social engagements. Her parents are referred to as ‘Edo’ and ‘Mumdie’. There are references to shooting, golf, croquet and hunting as well as birds’ nesting. During the First World War, she undertook voluntary hospital work and in the early part of 1916 she and her mother assisted at a Red Cross canteen in Paris.
