Descriptionfor the pictures numbered 43-200b in the catalogue of the Radnor collection at Longford Castle and Brook Street prepared by Helen Matilda, Countess of Radnor (1846-1949) with assistance from the music scholar and critic, William Barclay Squire (1855-1927) and later editing by Jacob, 6th Earl of Radnor (1868-1930); correspondence in date order (undated letters at the back) with various curators and art historians, including Claude Phillips, Ruedi Burckhardt, and Eric Maclagan; some of the research on specific paintings is bundled together (e.g. Rubens' Duke of Alva on Horseback and the work by George Meyler Squibb on the Hare family of Lord Coleraine, previous owner of Longford Castle), but otherwise the notes are in haphazard order; also a pamphlet "A Criticism of Correggio's Cupid Disarmed" by Julius Fuchs enclosing correspondence and research notes on that picture and a printed copy of Catalogue of Rubens' Effects by Dawson Turner with two letters from the compiler to William, 3rd Earl of Radnor (1779-1869) and a printed booklet in French on the paintings and statues found in Rubens' house at his death; also a modern photocopy of a typewritten list of extracts from accounts books of picture purchases, the result of Helen Matilda's research into the family archives
