From Sir Ricard Colt Hoare, with a prospectus for a History of Ancient Wiltshire; Northern District, 1817-1819; from WG Maton about the inscription on a Roman coin with the earl's reading of it, 1807; from Thomas Christopher Banks with a prospectus of his book The New and Complete Baronage of England, down to 1810; from Thomas Clio Rickman (1760-1834) asking the earl for a subscription (possibly for his Life of Thomas Paine published in 1819); he has added a descriptive note to a poem on the steel chair at Longford, nd; from J Morres , Broughton, Leicestershire about the inscription on the font in Melton Mowbray church with the earl's reading of it and an article on palindromes in Latin and Greek texts, 1822; from Edward Hawkins, about the 3rd earl's gift of ancient coins to the British Museum, with a list of them, 1830.
