Descriptiondocuments include a list of bridesmaids and who they married, a printed ceremonial of the wedding. Lady Jane Harriet Ellice, nee Pleydell-Bouverie (1819-1903) who had been one of the bridesmaids, relating early meetings with the future Queen Victoria and giving an account of the wedding, to which Lady Jane travelled for the first time by railway; a magazine article on "The Bridesmaids of the Queen" and 1897 correspondence between Mrs Jane Gibson and Lady Jane on the subject of the latter's wedding present from the Queen, a brooch in the shape of an eagle, given to all the bridesmaids; Lady Jane's had been stolen in 1852 or 1853 and had come into the possession of Mrs Gibson, who now returned it; also a jeweller's receipt of 1844-1845 for a ring, a brooch and a case from J & R Lauriere to William Ellice, probably Lady Jane's future husband (they married in 1847). see 1946/4/2C/135
