Descriptionpapers to do with the Hales family, including: the marriage settlement and marriage bond of Edward Coke and Katherine Hales (1735), the distribution of the manor of Beere in Westcliffe and other lands in Kent after their deaths according to the terms of that settlement with a lease of the manor (1774) and the marriage settlement of Anthony Duncombe, Lord Feversham, and Anne Hales (1736-1795), involving the transfer of the manor of Dalby, Leics. (1758). Anne Hales went on to become the third wife of William, 1st Earl of Radnor (1725-1776) and her step-daughter, Anne Duncombe, married Jacob, 2nd Earl of Radnor (1750-1828); also includes the illustrated notebook of Miss Anne Hales of 1748, consisting mainly of the copying of homilies in English and French
