The land in the manor of Bulbridge was purchased from Sir Giles Pole by William the first earl of Pembroke in 1556-57, and includes property in Broad Chalke, Knighton, Avon in Stratford sub Castle and Bemerton, Wilton, Stoke Farthing in Broad Chalke and Ditchampton in Wilton. The land in the manor of Washerne and South Ugford formerly belonged to the abbey of Wilton. For each holding there is a note of the terms on which it was held, a fairly detailed description of the property, and a not of the annual value. Four parchment skins sewn together. |
