Administrative History
Brakspear made limited excavations on the site of the nave and the north range of the cloister. He published his findings and a plan in 1923. Brakspear was commissioned to make designs for restoring and extending the remaining west range of the Priory for de Tuyll to use as a house. The first scheme was not grand enough and the second scheme was too expensive; both were abandoned.
