Administrative History
In 1876 when Clapton Rolfe built his four bay new Norman nave little survived except for wall bases and the ruined crossing piers. HB proposed an entire new east end with crossing tower in 1904. In fact only the chancel (completed 1908), rood screen (erected 1921) and north transept (1929/30) were built.
