Administrative History
In 1909 the Reverend George d'Arcy, was appointed vicar of Worksop. He initiated a programme for the rebuilding of the eastern arm of the church. He first approached Brakspear in 1909 but sufficient funds were not raised until 1919 when Brakspear was commissioned to prepare full working drawings for the restoration of the Lady Chapel. The building was dedicated in 1922. In 1927 Brakspear prepared final drawings for the south transept which was completed in 1929. The north transept was continued between 1933-35. This completed the whole of the crossing area, following which the blocking walls were removed.
