Draft memorial to the Great Western Railway Company
Description
States that the Lacock Parish Council wants GWR to provide Lacock with a railway station. Goes on to give reasons and reports a conversation between Brunel and Talbot at the time the railway was built and how a station was needed at Thingley junction instead. The parish council would like a station at the point in the road where Lacock and Corsham cross the branch line. Several earlier drafts are attached along with a list of names and companies. Envelope is addressed to John Austin, Assistant Overseer at Lacock.
