Description1. 1815 Account to the guardian of William Henry Fox Talbot for a journey by Sir Samuel Whitcombe and 2 clerks to Lacock to investigate records in the tower as to Vicarial tithes because of a dispute between Reverend Paley the vicar and various tenants as to their payment.
2. 1816 Bill from J Caley for a translation of an endowment of a vicarage.
3. 24 Nov 1818 Talbot against Feilding notice to attend an appointment concerning charges on Vicarial tithes.
4. Handwritten notes on the Chancery case between Talbot and Feilding.
5. 6 Oct 1815 Letter to Mr King from Mr Awdry. He has met several tenants who complain about being asked to pay Vicarial tithes by Reverend Paley but they did not pay them to Dr Popham.

7. 10 Oct 1815 Letter from S Whitcombe to Mr King, giving an opinion on Vicarial tithes question. With copies of letters subsequently sent to Mr Awdry and Captain Feilding by Mr King.
8. 19 Oct 1815 from Sir S Whitcombe about visiting Lacock to investigate deeds relating to Vicarial tithes.
9. 6/7 Dec 1815 Letters between Mr King, Captain Feilding and Talbot about the inconvenience of delay of visit by Sir S Whitcombe to Lacock to examine documents relating to Vicarial tithes.
10. 4 Nov 1815 to Mr King from Mr Awdry about the valuation of Edwards' farm.
11. 13 Oct 1815 to Mr King from unknown who agrees that the matter of tithes should be looked into but does not see why any of cost should fall on him.
12. 6 Nov 1815 to Mr King from Captain Feilding. He will call on him tomorrow.
13. 20 Nov 1815 to Mr King from Captain Feilding wanting to know if a date has been fixed for S Whitcombe's visit to Lacock. Includes reply from Mr King to confirm the date of the visit and a suggestion that the locks on the tower should be changed after the visit. Suggests felling of timber.
14. 22 Nov 1815 to Mr King from Captain Feilding who will meet Sir S Whitcombe at the time specified and will have locksmith available to change locks. Not sure about felling the timber, unclear if lost value in future outweighs benefit obtained today.
15. 11 Dec 1815 to Mr King from Mr Awdry. Captain Feilding has agreed to timber felling. Sir S Whitcombe is now to visit Lacock on 11 or 12 Jan. Copy of letters sent to Talbot and Feilding about timber.
16. 26 Jan 1816 to Mr King from Sir S Whitcombe who finished at Lacock yesterday but cannot yet settle the question of Vicarial tithes.
17. 23 Dec 1815 to Mr King from Captain Feilding arranging to meet Sir S Whitcombe at Lacock on 12 Jan.
18. Envelope addressed to Mr King. Date unclear. Contains a letter to Talbot from Mundy who has no hesitation in giving his consent to the proposal as he is aware of the accumulation of legal expenses in these matters. Also contains a letter from Mr Awdry about the Talbot and Peck exchange which should be completed before Lady Day now Mr Mundy has given his consent.
19. 23 Jan (1840) Letter to Mr King from Mr Awdry, and copy of reply concerning Talbot and Peck.
20. 1 Feb 1840 Letter to Mr King from Mr Awdry. Mr Talbot agrees to the exchange with Mrs Peck and thinks the sooner it is settled the better. Copy of reply sending documents for examination.
21. 5 Jul 1839 Letter to Mr King from Mr Awdry about Talbot and Mrs Peck, asking if as little expense as possible can be incurred for Mrs Peck.
22. 30 Apr 1840 Letter to Mr King from Mr Mundy about deeds for Talbot's exchange of land.
23. 23 Apr 1840 Letter to Mr King from Mr Awdry about Talbot and Peck. Sends deeds for examination by trustees. Copies of 3 other letters on reverse.
24. 19 Mar 1840 Letter from Mr Awdry to unknown about Talbot and Peck. Lands proposed to be given by Mr Talbot to Mrs Peck are free of tithes. The lands to be conveyed to Mr Talbot are subject to great and small tithes, the former payable to Mr Talbot, the latter to the Vicar. Asks if there should be a covenant.
25. 20 Mar 1840 Letter to Mr King from Mr Awdry about Talbot and Peck. He understands King's objection to Talbot's covenanting against land tax and tithes and suggests a solution.
26. 21 Mar 1840 Letter to Mr King from Mr Awdry about Talbot and Peck. He needs a letter from Mr Awdry of Melksham.
Undated notes on family history relating to Sharington Talbot of Salop 1643 and others.
27. 24 Mar 1840 Fragment of letter.
28. Nov 1837 Template receipt, not fully completed, for rent. On reverse is a note concerning William Henry Fox Talbot's gamekeeper who has been summoned to petty sessions to answer a complaint for taking fish from Captain Rooke's portion of the river.
29. 6 Jul 1840 Letter to Mr King from William Henry Fox Talbot. He wants to show that he is descended from Sharington Talbot, prove that Sharington Talbot married Elizabeth Leighton and prove that Elizabeth was the granddaughter of Edward, Lord Zouch. Family tree on reverse.
30. 17 Mar 1840 Letter to Mr King from Mr Awdry about Talbot and Peck. He has examined the deeds and returns them with comments.
31. 19 Sep 1839 Letter to Mr King from Mr Awdry asking him to confirm that certain allotments in a meadow called North Mead are included in Mr Talbot's marriage settlement. Includes reply.
32. 22 Jan 1840 Letter to Mansell Talbot from Mr King to inform him that as he is a trustee of William Henry Fox Talbot's marriage settlement, he needs to approve a proposed mutual exchange of land.
33. 22 Jan 1840 Copy letter to Mr Awdry from Mr King about Talbot and Peck. He has written to Mr Mansell Talbot but has not received a response yet, and wants a description of lands and any contract and deeds.
34. 9 Aug 1839 Letter from Mr Awdry about Talbot and Peck suggesting that Mr Talbot be asked to communicate with his trustees.
35. 7 Aug 1839 Letter to Mr King from West Awdry about Talbot and Peck. Encloses abstracts of title to Mrs Peck's lands, and other titles relating to Mr Talbot's land.
