4. 1 Feb from Thomas Holloway to say he had not heard of the death of Mr Gale and thanking Charles for telling him; John Gale would be much missed, he "was a most useful man and the very essence of everything that is honourable and straightforward".
5. 4 Feb Memoriam card sent about the death of John Gale on 30 Jan.
6. 10 Feb from Thomas Holloway enclosing a copy of a letter he has written to Mr Stevens of Reybridge Cottage about him renting the cottage. Confirms he can arrange to have the work carried out.
