Description1. List of papers attached.
2. 27 Sep 1927 Details of cottages from which closet buckets are cleared by the Sanitary Authority. Lists tenants and addresses.
3. Undated note (typed) concerning the copy of the Magna Charta preserved at Lacock Abbey and speculation on how it came to be there.
4. 1939 Documents (3) concerning Corsham Water Works Company. Second document is a letter to Richard Foley at the Lacock Estate office outlining the water charges. The third is a list of estate properties and the associated water rate.
5. 1913 (revised 1934) List of cottages belonging to Matilda Talbot which are supplied with water from Corsham Water Company.
6. Undated, incomplete list of cottages belonging to Charles Henry Talbot.
7. 1934 List (typed) of schedule of properties supplied with Corsham Water Companies Water with the rate paid by Matilda Talbot.
8. 1937 List (typed) of schedule of properties supplied with Corsham Water Companies Water with the rate paid by Matilda Talbot.
9. Undated report on housing accommodation in Lacock, probably during the war. Particulars prepared for a housing meeting. Suggests that 10 to 20 new houses could be accommodated. Unclear who would finance these.
10. Undated list of housing. Lists house, tenant occupation and condition of property, as well as the owner. Several of the occupations are reported as "rubber".
11. 1919 Farm rents. Covers Manor, Whitehall, Nethermore and Wick Farms.
12. 1 Jan 1933 Booklet by the Lands Improvement Company for long term loans for improvements to estates and farms.
13. 20 Jan 1915 Booklet by the Lands Improvement Company for advancing money to land owners for improvements to drainage, irrigation, construction of railways etc.
14. 23 May 1933 Letter from the Lands Improvement Company to Richard Foley, Tower House, Lacock concerning reduced rates for long term loans.
15. 9 Apr 1926 Valuation of hay, tillages, tenant right etc from Harry Latham to Matilda Talbot and her incoming tenants. Incoming tenants are A Chivers, P Chivers, H Hunt and W Selfe and sons.
16. Undated schedule of lands and valuations of Lacock Estate as valued for probate, around the time of Charles Henry Talbot's death. Abbey valued at £22,500. Total value of all properties £88,144.
17. 8 Apr 1920 Document concerning division of trust payments: £6,862 shared between Miss Mary Emily Gilchrist Clark, Miss Matilda Theresa Gilchrist Clark and Mrs Grace Horatia Hay. It is later noted that Matilda Theresa Gilchrist Clark is now Talbot.
18. 18 Apr 1901 Letter from H Blake to Charles Henry Talbot concerning liability to clean sewer from the brewery to the canal at Bewley Lane.
19. Apr 1893 Note of the death of Ela Theresa Talbot.
20. List of recipients of coal for 1939, 1940 and 1941. Paid for as part of their statutory allowances.
21. 8 Jan 1927 List of subscriptions paid for by Matilda Talbot. Includes Lacock Band of Hope and Lacock Football and Cricket clubs.
22. Undated booklet entitled "Reasons against the proposed line of the Wilts and Somerset Railway, with suggestions for a better line", submitted by William Henry Fox Talbot. Explains how going through the centre of his estate would be a very roundabout route. Includes a map in the back of the booklet.

24. 27 Sep 1929 Inventory and valuation of Wick Farm, Lacock. Made from W T Guley, outgoing tenant, to Matilda Talbot.
25. 21 Dec 1934 Letter from W S Scammell, River Avon (Bristol) Catchment Board to Richard Foley. Includes a printed booklet of the bye laws.
26. Statistics regarding 80 cottages on the Lacock Abbey estate, having a rental of £12 per annum or less. Showing the amount expended on repairs, rates, taxes, insurance and management covering period 1 Jan 1917 to 31 Dec 1930.
27. Undated list of mansions and large houses, situated in Chippenham Rural District Council. Lists owners and rateable values.
28. Garden accounts for 1927-1930 and 1931-1935. Questions what would happen if the kitchen garden was closed to reduce the average loss every year.
29. Undated inventory for the George Inn, Lacock. Includes trade furniture, fixtures and fittings etc.
30. 1931 List of Lacock Abbey tenants having electric light installed. Includes the Red Lion Inn.
31. 20 Feb 1929 Notice of Rating and Valuation Act 1925, section 11, from Chippenham Rural District Council.
32. 30 Aug 1933 Letter from Hodson Ltd, Nottingham concerning land drainage and pond and lake cleaning.
33. 27 Jun 1928 Cutting from Wiltshire Gazette by O G S Crawford from the OS Office, Southampton concerning the course of the old London and Bath road though Lacock during the Middle Ages. Followed by some research done at Lackham, noting that at Lacock Abbey is a map dated 1714, which shows the abbey road as Bath to London.
34. 29 Jul 1935 Letter from Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to Richard Foley concerning extinguishment of manorial incidents. Attached is a form and a typed note referring to Bewley Common, Lacock and the freehold owned by Matilda Talbot.
35. 1920-1933 Schedule of houses on the Lacock Abbey estate registered under the Rent Restrictions Act.
36. 17 Aug 1938 Application for registration of a dwelling house for 6 and 21 Church Street, Lacock. Occurrence which produced decontrol - Possession.
37. Note on Lacock Abbey Gardens.
38. Dec 1935-Jan 1936 Note on work dealing with widening Lacock brook.
39. 1932-1936 Accounts relating to the Gosling loan for £500.
40. 25 Jun 1935 Schedule of damage caused by flood. Repairs required to the Angel, bridges and cottages.
41. 9 Feb 1937 List of houses supplied with gas in 1937 by the Bath Gas Company as a result of a canvas of householders in Lacock. Lists names of all tenants.
42. 4 Mar 1941 Letter from Calne and Chippenham Rural District Council with a list of all houses in Lacock of architectural interest so that they may be preserved in the event of damage in the war.
43. 3 Aug 1940 Note on arrangements regarding duties at Lacock Abbey between Matilda Talbot MBE and William Fortune on his retirement as head gardener at Lacock Abbey.
44. 9 Jun 1942 Report from Salisbury General Infirmary, Pathological Department on bacteriological examination of water. Two samples. One from ablution tap at Lacock Abbey and one from tap connected with service main at Bowden Hill. Both samples showed no evidence of harmful pollution.
45. 25 Feb 1947 Notice for rateable values on Lacock abbey and gardens and three flats.
