9. 18 Apr Postcard from Richard Childs, Westmead House, Chippenham about the Bristol meeting and whether Charles is interested in attending.
10. 21 Apr from H W Armstrong at Lacock Vicarage to say that he went to Corsham that day and Brakspear is working on the plans. Mentions the bad smoke and flames on Sunday.
11. 26 Apr from P Delme Awdry to say that George Banks and his wife have gone from the cottage on Bowden Hill to the Chippenham workhouse, and their son, who has paid up the rent, asks permission to pass over the cottage and garden to John Chivers who works for Herbert Harris.
12. 28 Apr from P Delme Awdry to say that George Banks' son has had all the rent due; John Chivers is not the one who rents a house in Forest Lane but rents a house at Melksham Forest from Mr Giles, the tenant of Stroud Farm. He works for Herbert Harris and wants to be nearer his work. Mr Awdry thinks he will be a good tenant but will only be a monthly tenant so can be got rid of easily.
13. 28 Apr from J. H & H Blake asking if Charles would be prepared to give the tenancy of the Red Lion to them when the current tenant wishes to leave.
14. 2 May from Wilkins Brothers & Hudson Ltd and Pickwick Brewery in Corsham about the two licensed properties and their wish to lease them.
15. 5 May from Wilkins Bros & Hudson Ltd noting that Charles does not want to lease the two properties.
16. 5 May from Kemp Brothers to confirm their foreman will wait upon Charles the next day.
