Description1. Letter from Matilda Talbot to Mr Walton noting that "the Russian boy - Oleg Goffman - was granted naturalization in November and got away to sea in December, an apprentice in a British ship." The letter requests advice about making a loan to a mason, who is the son of a former gardener at Lacock. Matilda Talbot admires his skill as a mason but regrets his business management which has led to his being in debt. She suggests that the Lacock estate could make £250 available and that her brother-in-law Edward Stewart another £250.
