Talks of the hard task of communicating from such a distance and he wishes to stay in India rather than return to France where he may have trouble with Monsieur Raison's heirs who may take him to court. Asks for Davenport's understanding. Last page added at a later date, asking what the heirs of Monsieur Raison intend to do.
