He asks the recipient to pass on his respects to Captain Talbot. There is mention of a Monsieur Raley. 5. Undated letter in French from J B M Fantiny to unknown protesting against all the rumours that he had not carried out his duty to arrange a grand spectacle for the recipient faithfully. 6. 25 Feb 1790 Letter in French from Geneva from Charles Dejean to unknown disputing the amount of debt rumoured by "S A R" to have been left and all the horrors that the Colonel was rumoured to have committed. He vows that he would have taken his leave of the Colonel if he had believed that he had not had the interest of "Monseigneur" in mind. 7.
