Notes, probably by Charles Henry Talbot, and some sketches and notes by John Britton, on Lacock Abbey and others.
Description
1. Printed paper made into a folder holding documents:
a. Cut off piece of hand written paper describing Biddestone, Hartham Park then crossed out. On the reverse are some sketches of the rooms in the cloisters at Lacock Abbey.
b. Envelope addressed to J Brinkworth.
c. Sketch of outer south and west walls with tower of Lacock Abbey with outlined description of the hall and flights of steps. On reverse is a sketch of the warming room and outlining the trough.
d. Sketch of the cloister rooms with sketches of the bosses and buttresses.
e. Sketch of the windows and bases of columns.
f. Note: Lacock Abbey May 1803.
g. Note with the quote "Lacock old monastery one of the most peaceful they say in England…."
h. Sketch of the cloisters adjacent to the tower.
i. Sketch of Bromham Church.
j. Sketch of unknown origin.
k. Sketch of Lacock Church with insert.
2. Undated unsigned note describing the age of parts of Lacock Abbey.
3. Undated unsigned notes describing the church and ascertaining ages of various parts.
