Description | 1. 3 Mar thanking Charles for taking Holt and his wife to the station following their visit to Lacock Abbey. They have had a long discussion about Lacock and the possibility of a practice there and of getting a house there. 2. 10 Mar apologising for not writing sooner; he has decided to look for a partnership practice so could Charles let him know if he hears of a suitable house, preferably one with a garden. 3. 13 Mar about the possibilities of finding a house, which are not good. 4. 16 Mar about a house Charles has mentioned, which does not seem to be the sort of thing they want as it is half a mile outside the village. It would be alright if there was already a practice at Lacock but it would leave an opening for the man at Corsham to put in a partner or assistant at Lacock. A central position is very important for a doctor. 5. 17 Mar from E C Hunt, High Street. Says it would be a decided advantage to have a resident medical man, and Bewdley Villa will become vacant in a few weeks which has a hall, stable and coach house adjoining the main house. He would be pleased to furnish particulars. 6. 21 Mar agreeing to come and see the house. 7. 28 Mar saying that he has just heard of a partnership which he does not want to bind himself to; but at the same time he doesn't want to give up Lacock in case the partnership doesn't work out. Agrees to see the house anyway and apologises for seeming ungrateful - but a partnership is his preference if possible. |
