Description1. 1 Sep 1893 from Malcolm Low thanking Charles for sending him the date of Muriella Talbot's burial at Lacock, enclosing a copy record in Mary Davenport's handwriting from her "Memorandum Book" showing the dates for her own birth and that of her brother and sister. No enclosure in the envelope although the letter has (apparently in Mr Low's handwriting) the copy extract on its last page.
2. 13 Sep 1893 from Malcolm Low regarding further information on common family history.
3. 15 Sep 1893 from Malcolm Low to say he will try and get St John Thackeray to allow him to photograph the miniature of William Davenport Talbot so that he can send a copy to Charles. Discussion on the date of birth of Elizabeth Talbot and common family history.
4. 30 Sep 1893 from Malcolm Low to say that Elizabeth Talbot was clearly the daughter of John Talbot and his wife Margaret; he had returned from visiting St John Thackeray at Mapledurham with the miniature of William Davenport Talbot.
5. 5 Oct 1893 from Malcolm Low regarding the marriage of John Ivory Talbot and the correct spelling of Mary Mansel's surname and accepting Charles' offer to visit Lacock.
6. 19 Oct 1893 from Malcolm Low regarding the marriage of Henry Davenport to Elizabeth Talbot in 1665 and family history.
7. 24 Oct 1893 from Malcolm Low regarding his forthcoming visit to Lacock to view the parish records.
8. 9 Feb 1894 from Malcolm Low enquiring on restoration at Lacock Abbey, that he had searched unsuccessfully for Martha Talbot's will, that he had no further information on the Ivory family although he had not yet seriously taken up this matter and other family history matters.
9. 26 Feb 1894 from Malcolm Low regarding burials of Sir John Talbot and Anne Ivory and asking for assistance in the visit to Lacock to search the parish records by R J Spilsbury who assists him with his correspondence.
10. 28 Feb 1894 from R J Spilsbury thanking Charles Henry Talbot for his letter and that the appointment would suit him very well indeed and that he had found the record of the baptism of Martha Talbot for 15 Nov 1720 at Bath Abbey.

12. 21 Nov 1899 from W H Jones asking for details of "William Talbot" who "was Chancellor of our Cathedral 1771-1812" (probably Salisbury Cathedral) and setting out other various clerical offices held by members of the Talbot family.

15. 10 Jul 1900 from Emily Talbot thanking Charles for sending the Jun and Jul "Photograms" and that she was trying to trace those for Dec to Apr as she dabbled in photography.
16. 20 Jul 1900 from Mrs Forrester thanking Charles for his letter and the magazines he had sent and that whilst she normally developed her own negatives she had sent on this occasion sent her films to be professionally developed so as to make the best of them.
17. 22 Jul 1900 from Harold Brakspear on the rules of St Saviour for nuns and the possibility of Charles calling at Hayles.
18. 24 Jul 1900 from P Delme Awdry asking Charles to sign a receipt for a fire damage claim and apologising for the delay in providing particulars of the Corsham water bill but that he awaited a list of persons who received water from the company. He also confirmed that according to the rules of the Company's Act of Parliament it was compulsory for landlords to pay water rates for houses where the rateable value does not exceed £8 per annum.
19. 24 Jul 1900 from H Snowden Ward on behalf of the Photogram Limited asking for an example of the more pictorial of his father's work to include in "Photograms of 1900" to show the quality of his work.
20. 27 Jul 1900 from P Delme Awdry regarding Mr Hall moving into the tenancy of Mr Milsom from his existing place and other estate matters
21. 30 Jul 1900 from H Snowden Ward on behalf of the editors of the Photogram Limited thanking Charles for promptly sending a print by William Henry Fox Talbot for "Photograms of 1900".
22. 9 Aug 1900 from Harold Brakspear regarding arrangements for the electric bells and also places that may be of interest for Charles' visit to Gloucester.
23. 11 Aug 1900 from H Snowden Ward thanking Charles for his invitation to visit Lacock but that it was impossible for him to visit, even for a weekend, at present being more than usually busy. He doubted that the Antiquarian Society (or Literary) would be interested in a re-print (it does not say of what) as he had not heard from them.
24. 17 Aug 1900 Copy letter from Charles to L Spackman, Secretary of the Corsham Water Company, regarding payment of £16 a year water rates which should have been paid by tenants.
25. 18 Aug 1900 from Arthur Schoenberg to say he is sorry to miss an excursion to Malmesbury and that "Bulkington, Trowbridge will find Kite".
26. 18 Aug 1900 Quote from J E Eastmond for supplying and fitting an electric bell and fittings.
27. 20 Aug 1900 from Mrs Matilda Gilchrist-Clark writing from the Standing Stones Hotel, Stenness, Stromness, Orkney describing a visit to Orkney.
28. 21 Aug 1900 from Harold Brakspear confirming that he had told Eastmond to push on with the bells and that he would tell Charles about his visit to Hayles when he next sees him.
29. 23 Aug 1900 from Reverend Basil Edwards, rector of Ashburton, to say he is sorry to have missed Charles' visit and hoping that he had every facility for looking at "your old surroundings".
30. 30 Aug 1900 from Arthur Schoenberg as to the correctness of Charles' quotation.
31. 9 Sep 1900 from Emily Talbot to say that the missing numbers of the Photogram had never turned up and asking if he could send further copies and asking for a list of family portraits.

35. 22 Jan 1901 from William Gilchrist Clark Maxwell returning the Gentleman's Magazine loaned to him, errors in Brakspear's paper and giving an update on his correspondence with Anthony Maskelyne regarding Lacock Chapel.
36. 22 Jan 1901 from M G Dalgliesh thanking Charles for his letter and the information supplied, enclosing a copy of the proposed entry as to William Henry Fox Talbot asking if there were any corrections and asking to see the school list for 1875 as he would like to place a copy in the Vaughan Library.

42. Undated note by Charles Henry Talbot regarding a letter from Sanderson Miller of Radway, Warwickshire dated 1 Apr 1754 to the Reverend C Lyttleton, dean of Exeter, concerning the ruinous condition of the roof of Malmesbury Abbey Church.
43. 7 Oct 1905 from Charles Aitken, Director of Whitechapel Art Gallery, asking for a loan of photographs illustrating the early development of photography for a forthcoming exhibition and enclosing a form agreeing to the loan.
44. 11 Oct 1905 from Charles Aitken thanking Charles for his letter and stating anything that he could lend would be most valuable and that the exhibition would probably be a little later than planned so as to be able to secure the reversion of the St Louis Exhibit.
45. 12 Nov 1905 from Edwin Smith on behalf of the Shakespeare Club offering to send a copy of the 1860 re-print of the Chatsworth 1640 quarto edition of Hamlet as a token of their thanks for Charles' kindness on their visit to Wiltshire. The gift had seemingly been delayed by the death of the member of the Club who had previously undertaken to do this.
46. 17 Nov 1905 from Edwin Smith confirming that he was sending the volume by parcel post that day and apologising for any appearance of neglect by the Shakespeare Club.
