Description1. 8 Jun from W T Ball, carriage builder, about finding a suitable carriage for him - Mr Ball cannot find a carriage at the moment, he has looked at three but they are not in good condition and will not wear long. Prices are 45 guineas each.
2. 16 Jul from his cousin Rose Leaf enclosing a copy of a picture of Mary Davenport, a copy of a miniature which they wish to replace as the old one has many spots on it.
3. 7 Sep from P Delme Awdry about insurance for the stores without prejudice if they are properly protected from woodwork he also stipulates how the stores should be constructed. Asks if Charles has been able to complete particulars for insurance for all his properties. Mentions a gentleman called Arthur Westwood who would like to rent a property and does Charles give his permission for this to take place.
4. 9 Sep from P Delme Awdry about estate business and insurances - Rowlett's proposed shed will not affect the insurance and Mr Well's stable will not affect the insurance of his house. Asks that he be supplied with certain information so that he can set up a policy for that part of the property leaving the rest for another policy.
5. 7 Sep Postcard from Rosamond Talbot with family information.
6. 8 Sep Postcard from Rosamond Talbot letting Charles know she had the decanter and tumblers at the store and that she had seen a carpet for the dining room and needs the measurements.
7. 30 Aug from P Delme Awdry about the renting of land to Keen that Mrs Farmer currently rents - Keen could not afford the rent that Mrs Farmer is paying and has asked for a reduction, but there is no rush to make a decision as the tenancy does not end until 25 Mar 1901. Informs him that he is currently in Yorkshire but will be back at home by Tuesday.
8. 29 Aug from William Clark-Maxwell confirming that he will see Charles on 11 Sep if that date is convenient. If he would like to come before that date there are a couple of engagements he might be interested in.
9. 29 Aug from Tilly [Matilda] enclosing a postcard from Connie which says that Edward's knee is still quite bad after two weeks and he is having to use two sticks to walk with. Talks about other family members and various pieces of family information.
10. 31 Aug from W Jacob of Capital and Counties Bank about the directors agreeing to a banking facility of some sort in Lacock. He hopes the Lacock people will take advantage of the banking facilities and make it a success. He would like to call on Charles again to discuss matters.
