Description1. 25 Aug 1900 from Richard J Childs, secretary of the North West Wilts Liberal Association, enclosing the claim-list received from the overseers and put in by the Conservatives which he will oppose in the Revision Court.
2. 11 Sep 1900 from Colonel A Welby enclosing a note from one of the librarians at the British Museum (not in envelope) and offering to write to Mr Mayhew on the matters raised.
3. 17 Sep 1900 from A J Tanner agreeing to take on the tenancy vacated by Mr Baker.
4. 17 Sep 1900 from Edward Kite concerning the history of Amesbury church and enclosing drawing of the "west window before restoration".
5. 9 Nov 1900 Two letters from Dr Murray Gray on behalf of the Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wilts branch of the National Association for the prevention of consumption and other forms of Tuberculosis asking Charles to become a vice-president, enclosing a pamphlet regarding the association and application to become a member of the association and also asking for assistance in fundraising to establish open-air sanatoria for the poorer classes.
6. 14 Nov 1900 from P Delme Awdry confirming that £350 had been sent to Charles' account at Melksham and also recommending to him a request by Mr Palmer (currently paying £5 5s p.a. for a waterhouse and reservoir at Naish Hill) for an additional supply of water from a spring in Tacklemore Wood at an increased charge. 7. 16 Jan 1901 from P Delme Awdry apologising for displeasing Charles due to the delay in serving notice of termination of the tenancy of Henry Austin due to his involvement with past parliamentary election, although termination was still at the earliest date. The tenancy is to be taken over by John Austin and also discussion on the rent of another tenant James Cole. In the same envelope is a copy letter from Charles Henry Talbot to Sergeant James Cole dated 29 Jan 1901 apologising for Mr Awdry's failure to advise Sergeant Cole of his rent and confirming that he felt the rent should be £15 a year commencing on Lady Day with the tenant paying all rates. Includes Charles Henry Talbot's notes for the letter.
8. 3 Feb 1901 from C E Hobhouse concerning the repair of the canal.
9. 3 Feb 1901 from Reverend A W Phelps thanking Charles for his interest in Amesbury Church and discussing matters concerning the churchyard.
10. 1 Feb 1901 from Constance Stewart enclosing a "small sandwich man" for Charles' birthday.
11. 5 Feb 1901 from Sergeant James Cole thanking Charles for re-considering his rent and fixing it at £13 from the following Lady Day.
12. 11 Feb 1901 from Thomas Miller enclosing an appeal for funds towards repairs in respect of the "Wreck of the Chippenham Temperance Hall" caused by the chimney stack coming down in storm.
13. Undated letter from Ethel Woolmer to say she could not find any chairs identical with those at Lacock at the Kensington Museum and enclosing (not in envelope) an article on Auginian Monasteries.
14. Undated note from Charles Henry Talbot on the need to upgrade the Lacock drainage system but that would be no good asking the District Council to do anything. Plus a further note dated 17 Nov 1900 from A H Lapham of an extract setting out E Bath's duties in respect of the earth closets of the cottagers who cannot carry out the work themselves.
