Also details of a visit to Markeaton to see Emily (Clark Maxwell). 2. 25 Jan 1904 from William Gilchrist Clark Maxwell concerning political matters, complains that his uncle describes him as "being in the political balance" and then discusses matters such as the Licensing Laws and Home Rule for Ireland. 3. 22 Feb 1904 from George Patrick, Honorary Secretary of the British Archaeological Society, confirming that the Council of the Society had agreed to hold the forthcoming congress of the Society in Bath but was unable at present to confirm whether the Society would visit Lacock that year, agreeing to send Charles a copy of the programme and hoping that Charles could join the congress. 4. 13 Apr 1904 from William Gilchrist Clark Maxwell proposing to visit Lacock the following Monday to discuss certain matters regarding the rectory at Lacock and wishing to correct his transcripts by the cartulary. 5. 14 May 1904 from the British Archaeological Association apologizing for an error in its not recording Charles as a Life Member and hoping to meet him at the forthcoming Congress. 6. 16 May 1904 from A W W Bartlett, Secretary to the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, confirming that in accordance with a request from Dr Eder of Vienna that he had sent the block reproduced from Claudet's daguerreotype of William Henry Fox Talbot which Dr Eder proposed to use in the new edition of his handbook. 7.
