States she does not like his work but he was well thought of in his day. Wonders what people will think of the new houses in 150 years. Charles, in his writing, says they will not survive to be criticised. 11. 21 May 1909 from Mrs Stanton stating that her book on Sanderson Miller is starting to come together and requesting uses of 2 pictures of Ivory Talbot and Lacock Abbey to illustrate the book. 12. 7 Jul 1909 from Mrs Stanton thanking Charles and his niece for a picture of Ivory Talbot and saying that Ivory Talbot was sometimes referred to as John in Sanderson Miller's library. 13. 6 Aug 1909 Letter discussing where Sanderson Miller got his taste for Gothic and comparing it with Horace Walpole's. 14. 12 Aug 1909 from Mrs Stanton thanking Charles, Mrs Gilchrist Clark and her daughter for making her visit so delightful. Also hoping that when Charles reads more about Sanderson Miller he will like him despite what he did to the architecture at Lacock. Mentions a Norman chapel at Broad Campden which has been restored. 15. 17 Aug 1909 from Mrs Stanton thanking Charles for sending her his pamphlet and reporting the death of Mr William Miller. 16. Undated from Mrs Stanton thanking Charles for a picture of Sanderson Miller's "misdeeds" and his tolerance for what had been done. Listing some of the houses Sanderson Miller had influenced. Also Lord Cobham allowing her to explore Hagley.
17. 29 Nov 1909 Envelope containing 6 letters: a. Undated, asking Charles to mark in pencil any omissions made so she can rectify them. b. Undated, asking for a picture but no hurry. Mentions Elena de Montfort. c. 18 Nov thanking Charles and his niece for the picture. Also asking for corrections to her work. d. 26 Nov discussing the use of spellings, punctuation as they were in original letters quoted as they gave the charm of the age. Also saying that Ivory Talbot's letter would not appear. e. 29 Nov thanking him for allowing a stranger to wander around the abbey and apologising for the mistake about the chimney that she made. f. Undated, stating that the chapters on architecture might not be as interesting as the others to the general reader. Apologising for mistakes made.
