Description1. 15 Jun 1911 from the Local Government Board acknowledging a previous letter about an appeal against a closing order.
2. 19 Jun 1911 from the Local Government Board about certain works to be carried on some properties. They draw attention to the copy of the Rules and Appeals under the Act and that these rules have not been adhered to. They will deal with the matter but first they need certain information which they request and an amount of £10.
3. 26 Jun 1911 from the Local Government Board acknowledging receipt of his letter, enclosures and a cheque for £10. Included is a copy letter from Charles to the Secretary of the Local Government Board enclosing a letter he had received from Chippenham Rural District Council stating that they have decided to withdraw the four notices which they had served on him.
4. 6 Jul 1911 from the Local Government Board acknowledging Charles' letter and enclosures.
5. 7 Jul 1911 from the Local Government Board about Charles' letter to them: they understand he no longer wishes to proceed with his appeal and they request a formal notification to this effect.
6. 10 Jul 1911 from the Local Government Board acknowledging Charles' letter.
7. 12 Jul 1911 from the Local Government Board acknowledging Charles' letter and noting that he has abandoned his appeal. Included is a copy letter from Charles Henry Talbot to the Board stating he no longer wishes to appeal against the notices of the Chippenham Rural District Council.
8. 13 Jul 1911 from the Local Government Board, Whitehall, enclosing a refund of £10 about abandoning an appeal that certain works were carried out.
9. 1 Jul 1907 List of names and amounts possibly to be paid to them.
10. 30 Apr 1906 Compliment slip from Richard Foley, note and date about the granting of water and fishing to the Lord of Lackham - proceedings or enquiry before the Justices at Devizes. Also a note about the Session in Eyre held at Devizes on 12 Sep 1463 before the Earl of Essex; stating that all the water and fish between two points are for the taking subject to a yearly rent to the Crown.
11. Family tree from John Baynton of Bromham, 1516, to Sir Edward Baynton and Stanton Thynne of Bromham, 1679.
12. Family tree for the Feilding family with a note on the inside about the family.
13. Very faint copy of a possible family tree which may refer to earlier family members.
14. 15 Mar 1869 from Rosamond Talbot from Venice, mentions various cities and says what she thinks of them and asks is his opinion, also mentions the birthday of King Victor Emanuel and how much the country seems to hold him in high esteem and that the Royal Hymn was sung at various theatres.
15. 1 Apr 1869 from Ela Talbot mentioning various topics and the weather and other family members and also the fact that Major Arbuthnot was almost killed by a panther and it was reported in some of the papers.
16. Various cuttings from local newspapers about the Queen's Jubilee in 1887. Some mention the forthcoming event and the collection of monies and what will happen and how things will be organised.
17. Copies of letters written to local newspapers by Charles Henry Talbot about with local matters, including the ordnace survey of the area
18. Notes about Amesbury Church and references to Amesbury Abbey and the history of it.
19. Notes about a criticism of Mr Kite's paper on cross and beads found in the grave of the foundress of Lacock Abbey.
20. Ancestry of the late Joseph Chamberlain who had a Lacock connection.
21. Notes about Warneford Place, Sevenhampton, about a stone which was not in the proper place and a shield with the arms of Warneford, over the shield is a crest. Further information and names of family. There are also some notes about William Sharington who bought Lacock Abbey under a grant in Jul 1540 for the sum of £783. The notes mention that he came from an old Norfolk family and like Baron Seymour of Sudeley and Sir Francis Bryan became one of the gentlemen of the King's Privy Chamber. Mention of John Mann, native of Lacock, Winchester and New College, reformer, expelled for heresy in 1540, restored in 1547 and made Warden of Merton by Archbishop Parker in 1562. Afterwards he was Dean of Gloucester, was sent as ambassador to Madrid where he got into trouble and was recalled. He died in 1568 and is buried in St Anne's near Aldersgate Street.

24. Note about Sharington Talbot buried at Lacock 11 Aug 1677; marriage to Jane Littleton in 1627.
25. Undated letter from H Gillumly about the Shrewsbury Papers and his opinion of some of the information in them. Mentions Charles' mother and that the author's journey home through Bath and Bristol on the train was delayed. Further family information.
26. Undated letter from H G Awdry stating he is sorry he is not in a position to continue his subscription to the Lacock Schools as his current expenses are too heavy. Mentions there is no agreement for him to continuously pay. Adds a copy letter from Mr Smith which mentions the house he is renting, the cost and the contents.
