Description | 1. 18 Dec 1887 from Matilda Gilchrist-Clark enclosing a Christmas card (still in envelope), that there had been a great deal of snow although none remaining long on the ground and outlining family arrangements for Christmas and the New Year. 2. 5 Jan 1888 from Thomas Holloway, surveyor and valuer, to say that due to finding so many things to attend to during his visit to Lacock the previous Monday he had not found time to visit the Abbey. If fine he would come on Saturday bringing with him the drawing of the moulding of the facia timber taken from Selman's cottage. 3. 15 Jan 1888 from Ela Talbot with family news. 4. 17 Jan 1888 from Thomas Holloway regarding estate matters concerning the allotment field, Arnold's Mill and the re-letting of Selman's cottage to Mr Banks. 5. 19 Jan 1888 from Thomas Holloway acknowledging receipt of a letter, bills and tickets and he would call at the Abbey the following Saturday morning regarding the cottage to be taken by Mr Banks and his wish to show Mr Kean that he had not been treated unfairly. 6. 20 Jan 1888 from Thomas Holloway that he was meeting Mr Knight of Batheaston at Reybridge the following day and would not be able to call at the Abbey until after luncheon. |
