July 25 Received from father £1 for part of a cheque to send to Joseph Fry the next day.
Aug 3 Mrs Hudd applies for Neat's house - if it becomes vacant; school committee 4 pm; "H" is wonderful; Trowbridge is a dirty town.
Aug 4 1.45 am must get Kite to photograph and draw Bewley Court. It is a duty he (Charles Henry) owes to society.
Aug 9 Palmer, a mason, a young man died yesterday of a fever - son is brother to Mary Palmer. This is the next door house to Self's. Is there anything wrong with the water supply?
Aug 29 Clifton Down Fine air - long walk to sit here. Meat wafers not pleasant but usable.
Sep 2 Tree at Nethercote not sufficiently fenced. Fry - ask about money guaranteed to school master and whether he took his pupils to Weymouth.
Sep 15 One of the Miss Tanners is dead. Jennings to have the use of the road through to the back of the houses on Fortune's ground. Another day a wash house to be put up for John Fortune. Oven to come out at Mrs Jennings, repair washhouse.
