4. Copy grant of annuity, Talbot to Lyon 1781-1784. Contains three documents: a. Extracts from the registry of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury: the will of William Davenport of Lacock died 18 Apr 1781. Estates left to Martha and Thomas Mansel Talbot. Other names: Prideaux Sutton Davenport and William Davenport Talbot, his sons. Proved London 21 May 1781. Enclosed is a receipt from Martha Davenport. b. 5 Oct 1784 Affadavit of William Davenport Talbot in Chancery. Talbot was cornet in 2nd Regiment Dragoon Guards and swears that the estates mentioned in an indenture dated 5 Oct 1784 between himself, Benjamin Moseley of Cecil Street London and John Perkins of Southwark are the same estates he received in his father's will. He continues that the estates are rented out to several people for a total annual rent of £200pa. c. Copy of judgement in Moseley v Talbot, plea dated 11 Jun 1785. Benjamin Moseley described as debtor of the King represented by Joshua Peart pleading for £1200 that William Davenport Talbot had borrowed on 1 Jun 1784 be repaid so that Moseley can pay the £20 he owes the King. Talbot, represented by Edward Kingston, admits that he owes Moseley the money and he is required to pay the amount plus 63s costs.
5. 5 Oct 1784 Draft bond from William Davenport Talbot to Benjamin Moseley. 6. 4 Jun 1796 Draft grant between William Davenport Talbot, John Lyons of Lambeth and George Lewis, a trustee named by John Lyons. Agreement for Lyons to be paid £200 pa out of the rent charges of Talbot's estates. 7. 5 May 1797 Grant of £100 from William Talbot to John Lyons, refers to the above grant. 8. 1829 Settlement on the marriage of the Reverend Francis Thackerey with Miss Shakespeare.
