On reverse of this letter there is a copy of a letter from Henry Davenport to Leonard Phillips with some queries about the bill of lading and a copy of a letter to John Perks discussing the ship's cargo and who was to meet it etc, and asking him to send him a note as soon as the ship arrived at Bristol. 2. 10 Aug 1727 Letter from James Colebrook concerning the lending of money on Davenport's behalf. 3. 18 Jul 1727 Letter from [William] Perks in Bristol to accompany his accounts for expenses with reference to cargo. Signed John, but description says William. 4. [7] Jul 1727 Letter from Peter Chauvel concerning some rings which he has sent to Mrs Frankling according to Henry Davenport's order. 5. 13 Jun 1727 Letter from Leonard Phillipps concerning freight and Henry Davenport's orders for him. Davenport's reply has been added to the same requesting specific kinds of timber. 6. 8 Jun 1727 Letter from Nathaniel Hickman in London concerning a "cause" of Mr Davenport's being heard by the Lord Chancellor involving the estate of Mrs Lacy. Congratulates him on the case being concluded. Makes reference to South Sea Stock which was at 12% and will apparently rise higher. 7. 5 May 1727 Letter from James Colebrooke apologising for not being able to wait upon him. Commiserates with him for being confined by the gout. 8. 14 Aug 1727 Letter from John Perks in Bristol concerning a payment for freight still owed. 9. Refers to an outstanding debt. 10. 10 Oct 1727 Letter from James Colebrooke with news that a shipment of diamonds has arrived. Includes Davenport's reply underneath with instructions as to the sale of the diamonds. 11. 20 Dec 1727 Letter from Samuel Hill concerning some stones for flagging. However he had made a purchase and is organising their shipment. If Davenport will please to come to town before the term begins they shall get an act passed and then get an order for the payment of the money. 25. 29 Sep 1726 Letter from Leonard Phillipps to pass on an enquiry from Mr Horn as to the progress made in Davenport's building, and to recommend himself to serve him. 26. 20 Sep 1726 Letter from Charles Boone thanking Davenport for the kind reception he received at Worfield and continues with details of the state of his horses. 27. 29 Apr 1727 Letter from John Devey giving family news, Miss Davenport is much better.
