Part 3, by John D Morgan, in command and 24 men, the garrison of Condopah Chaultry. That the guard came under fire from a distant gun and ten horsemen with swords drawn came across the river, Morgan ordered the gate closed but pistols were fired at them and, dismounting under cover of the bank, some assailants crept round and threw grenades whilst others fired carbins from the river. The guard lost several wounded and a boy killed but fought back wounding some of the assailants who then all asked for quarter.
