In what appears to be a reply to a letter from Henry says he expects that he will have to work and not depend on an estate. 2. 9 Jul 1724, from Sharington Davenport apologising for the sorrow he has caused Henry for his idleness at school and asking forgiveness. 3. 24 Jun 1724 List for Mary Elizabeth Davenport including haberdashery, clothing and groceries. 4. Undated letter from Mary Hallifax with news that her sister-in-law has arrived safely praising Sharington. 5. 8 Feb 1723 Note from Henry Davenport to Mr Richard Baldwyn asking if he will be able to remit some bills to be paid in London. Inside is the reply from Mr Baldwin dated 10 Feb 1723, confirming he has carried out the request. 6. 4 May 1723 Letter from Joshua Symond's son concerning payment of an annuity to the children of John Bucknall and land rents owed by Henry. 7. 1 May 1724 Letter from Joshua Symonds concerning a second request for Henry for payment of money owed. 8. 25 Mar 1695 Letter from Andrew Swift to Colonel Davenport concerning a contested case at the assizes for £50. 9. 10 May 1722 Letter from George Lambe asking to meet concerning Davenport's mines in Wales and the estate of John Radford. 10. 12 Jul 1722 Letter from Nathaniel Hickman concerning an audit to be carried out and money that has been paid, and an account. 11. 11 Sep 1722 Letter from Nathaniel Hickman concerning the delivery of bonds in the hands of a guardsman and asking what agreement has been made with Mr Boone regarding the children's maintenance. 12. 22 Aug 1722 Letter from Charles Boone in response to an approach from Henry's Solicitor agreeing to maintenance for Henry's children. He is convinced Davenport will only insist on honourable terms. Beside this is a reply from Henry dated 12 Sep 1722, stating that he only wishes what is due to the children and that he has no desire to affect Mr Boone's property. 13. 13 Aug 1722 Letter from Lapostre written in French stating that he wishes to meet with an agreement and enclosing a letter from Monsieur de Tascher. Includes letter of 14 Aug 1722 from Peter de Tascher to Davenport hoping for an "amicable agreement between you and Mr Boon" and giving the reasons for the delay in concluding the children's pensions (Robert Nightingall's death, Mr Chamberlain's delays) and stating that the trustees wish to "procure a just satisfaction". Boon seems not to want correspondence with Tascher. Asking Davenport to help him get a lawful discharge of his trust in Chancery, though Lapostre should not desire same. |
