Description1. 20 Nov 1723 from Henry Frankland concerning East India Company matters and men who should be assisted in their careers (Wadham Brooke, Humphrey Briggs). Disturbances with government. Governor Feake acquainted everyone with State of Bengall affairs on his departure. Governor Deane and Mr Surman carry out glorious trade. Markets overstocked abroad. Company's inland trade much more advantageous than shipping, so Frankland is dubious about staying where he is now. Madrass consignments lost their value.
2. 1 Aug 1719 from E Oadham thanking Henry for his letter about King William and saying he had violent fever.
3. 17 Dec 1718 from Mary Leux offering good wishes to the Davenport family. Since Davenport's departure she lived on rent of house he left her and her own industry together.
4. 2 Feb 1714 from A Langelier giving news of the marriage of Mr Legg and the proposed marriage of Thomas Cooke. He still implores the continuance of Davenport's protection. He will send Davenport copy of accounts. 11 Feb 1714 from Langelier: Mauber Cawn Governor of Waldore took up arms against Fort St David. Desertion of 22 men. Council makes Mr Frederick drive on a hellish life.
