Also articles of agreement of 7 Oct 1699 between Prideaux Sutton and John Webb regarding the rectory and advowson of Bredon. 5. 28 Feb 1708 Copy letter from Mrs Davenport to Consul Christopher Crow at Leghorn asking for details of effects and monies, both held and due to her deceased husband Captain William Davenport and any will or other correspondence held. Her uncle had written to Captain Stanhope but had received no reply. Also copy of letter to Captain Stanhope requesting an answer to previous correspondence concerning the estate left by Captain Davenport at Leghorn. 6. 11 Nov 1715 Letter from William Sarum to his cousin mentioning his son Harry and asking when the recipient might visit. 7. 4 May 1716 Letter from Thomas Dickens to Henry Davenport regarding bail bonds on Thomas Bate of Mitley, an old tenant of Davenport’s, his son in law and others for non-attendance at Mr Sandford’s suit. A postscript mentions the dam and weirs have raised water levels higher than when the old mill stood and the water has now flooded the land. 8. 26 Mar 1726 Draft letter from Henry Davenport to Osmond Beauvoir mentioning he has been busy with the affair of Madame Chardin, but he has written to Governor Boone with an account of his actions and how he is blameless. Also a note to James Colebrooke dated 26 Mar 1726 regarding money matters and enclosing Mr Chamberlayn’s account. Additionally, a second note dated 19 Feb 1828 to Osmond Beauvoir, saying his return to town had been delayed by floods and bad roads. Mention of his affairs with Brother Boone. 9. 27 Sep 1726 Letter from Charles Brunt to Henry Davenport asking for payment due to Mr Wilion. 10. 9 Jun 1728 Letter from Leonard Fosbrooke giving details and price of timber. On the reverse is a list of whelps. 11. 23 Sep 1731 Letter from Samuel French to Prideaux Sutton regarding financial matters, including East India and South Sea Stock. The letter was then passed to Henry Davenport. 12. 14 Oct 1745 Draft letter possibly from Barbara Davenport to her brother concerning the possibility of providing finance. |
