Description1. 9 Mar 1744 Letter to unnamed recipient from Mr Keene giving Mr Filmer's legal opinion on Lord Mansel's Will and on the Worcestershire estate. Will visit him to settle the matter.
2. 11 Apr 1738 Letter to unnamed recipient from unnamed sender thanking them for the payment of £10 and condoling with the recipient on the death of Mr Cox. Undated letter on reverse requesting the use of a chair that Lady Bradford used to be carried in so that the sender might attend church.
3. Undated letter to "cousin" from unnamed sender expressing sadness on the death of Uncle Ivory. Aunt Davenport has asked them to let the recipient know that Hoarstone Farm is now in the possession of Sir Rowland Hill or Mr Harwood.
4. 3 May 1738 Letter to unnamed recipient from unnamed sender asking if they or Mr Lea would let them know the day school breaks up so that his son loses as little time as possible.
5. Undated letter to Mrs Franklin from Letitia Davenport to inform her they have sent a box to her at Mrs Talbot's and have desired Mr Talbot to pay her some money. Gives her regards to Mrs Talbot and Mrs Finch and says her sister has miscarried a boy.
6. Undated letter to unknown from Letitia Davenport requesting payment of a year's interest from him to Mrs Franklin.
7. 10 Feb 1746 Letter to Miss Talbot from James Colebrooke informing her that he has seen Mr Mason with regards to the case of Allen against Wilson where she had a mortgage of £6000 and another estate now foreclosed.
8. 3 Nov 1746 Letter to Mr Colebrook from unnamed sender enclosing a bill to Mrs Francis Franklin for £11. Both the sender and Miss Lucy Davenport would be grateful to have an account of where they stand in Mr Colebrook's books.
9. 25 Oct 1750 Letter to the officers of the parish of Bredon from John Jones, overseer of Bosbury to request support for the wife of the late John [Umfress], a poor woman not able to subsist of herself.
10. 11 Mar 1746 Letter to Mrs Davenport from Walter Stubbs. Has sent 10 guineas as directed. Is sorry Mr Cope's horse did not please Mr Davenport.
11. Unused "Warrant for Misdemeanour" form.
12. 2 Feb 1747 Letter to Mr Colebrooke from Barbara Davenport informing him with Walter Stubbs has promised to forward Wilson's affair.
13. Undated letter to Mrs Davenport from [F] Bendish at Eastham. Apologises for not writing, she and Mr Bendish have been much concerned enquiring into the state of their affairs which seem to be better than expected, "it not being in my mammas power to hinder me of all my fortune". Imagines her wedding would supply Staffordshire with discourse "till something else happens" and expresses concern for her sister Betty who wishes to visit her but cannot because of their mother's displeasure.
14. 1722 Page of manuscript poetry in Latin, signed HMB.
15. 7 Feb 1746 Letter to "Madam" from James Colebrooke reassuring her of the progress of her case in the Court of Chancery.
16. Opinion of Mr Wilbraham on several points relating to the inheritance of an estate by family members.
17. 1 May 1738 Letter to "Sir" from Barbara Davenport telling him she had not had an opportunity to send Miss Mary's stays until now, desires to know how long it is until Mary is needed "that she may be absent as little a while as possible to avoid the curious inquisitive".
18. 19 Feb 1746 Letter to Mrs Barbara Davenport from Walter Stubbs junior informing her he has taken all the pains he can with the solicitor for the late Wilson's creditors and is assured of no further delay of the payment of interest to her and Miss Davenport. Gives further details of the matter.
19. Undated letter to "Madam from Barbara Davenport. Asks after the family, Mrs Mytton has miscarried twice within half a year. Mrs Davenport has had two bad falls from her horse this year.
20. Undated letter to "Revd Sir" from John Ricketts concerning a mistake between the people of Norton and the recipient over the payment of rent.
21. 21 Apr 1738 Letter to Mrs Mytton from Mrs Ivory concerning the dispute about the stopping of annuities.
22. 4 Mar 1738 Letter to unnamed recipient from [Anne Ivory] asking after the health of their son and if the cakes they sent did any good. Writes to arrange meeting with them.
23. Undated letter to [Mr Stubbs] from Barbara Davenport requesting money be sent.
24. Receipted bill to Reverend Mr Davenport from B [Taner] for the carriage of 10 boxes.
25. Note of the writer's brother's account to show lawyers: lists income from various estate properties.
26. Particulars of Mr Suttons lease to the tenants of Norton.
