Description1. Case for the Queen to revise the pay of the Three Troops of Horse Guards so that it was the same as the Light Horse. Includes the history of the inequalities and who had supported the case. Notes that deferred their case due to the Great Storm of 1703 when the Queen had paid widows of all the sailors killed. No date on the petition.
2. Undated list of troop members and horses that they purchased and sold listing if money owed, if money lost on the sale and what money now owed to the bank.
3. 1706-1709 List of money paid to Gentlemen - names and amounts not yet charged on one side of the paper, and on the other side, a list of bonds payable by other gentlemen including dates and amounts.
4. 31 Mar 1715 Letter to Major General Davenport from William Pulteney instructing him to select some officers, together with his adjutant, to attend meetings with regard to possible fraud at Chelsea Royal Hospital on behalf of His Majesty.
5. 5 Feb 1707 Copy of a list of the members of the four squadrons of the First Troop sent to Lord Abermarle.
6. 17 Mar 1707 Copy of a list of the members of the four squadrons of the first troop sent to Duke of Ormond, then given by him to Prince of Denmark 2 days later.
7. 31 Mar 1709 Abstract of clothing delivered to gentlemen of the First Troop from 1705 to 1708, and accounts of money paid and amount left.
8. 10 Dec 1709 Abstract of money received, from Mr Wilkes, from gentlemen (over 60 in number) when they entered - names and amounts - and received for horses sold.
9. 23 Jul 1708 Muster list of the First Troop of Horse Guards commanded by the Earl of Albermarle.
10. 5 Dec 1709 Account of horses and the dates that they came to Mr Short's Riding House from Jan 1707.
11. 7 Nov 1709 List of horses and their owners and the amounts owed, to be paid by Lord Albermarle.
12. 1716-1719 Account explaining who could order clothing for the regiment; the Earl of Portland was allowed but Lord Ashburnham was not. Explains how amount would be paid for Earl of Portland but not Lord Ashburnham's as would cause debts for many years (2).
13. Notice to all the gentlemen in the troop that they can approach the Colonel with matters that concern them over duty and discipline. It was a misunderstanding when he said they should go to their Exempt, that did not mean they could not come to him. Written by William Needham.
14. 10 May 1709 List of the three ranks of the First Troop of Horse Guards as they formed in review before the Duke of Ormond.
15. 9 Apr Letter from M Bradshaw regarding a request from Lady Mary Chambers for a Mr Turner to serve in Lord Portland's troop.
16. Unsigned letter to unknown stating that Mr Turner had been refused by Lord Portland due to the fact that he fell below the standard Lord Portland set. He had already refused several and did not wish to break the rule. Continued by saying would help him to join another troop.
17. 26 April, no year. Letter to unknown from R Donner regarding the fact that distemper had reached them from the South and had changed the horses' lives and requesting that they stay in Newark for the time being, although he dislikes country life.
18. Undated list of 4 separate accounts for the cost of clothing for gentlemen for 3 years.
19. 1708 Muster of the First Troop of Horse Guards under the command of the Earl of Albermarle (2).
20. 3 Oct 1714 Letter to William Pulteney regarding Mr Davenport from M J Drake writing that he felt that he had been accused of being affronted by Mr Davenport and he hadn't. Listed people such as Duke of Marlborough and Lord Halifax.
21. 24 Apr 1707 Cancellation of an instrument given to Colonel Pulteney by 11 officers for a considerable consideration to procure higher pay as nothing had happened.
22. 26 Apr 1710 List of the First Troop of Horse Guards as they appeared in 3 ranks in review to Duke of Ormond.
23. 26 Dec 1709 List of money owed by officers some to be charged to the bank and some to the Earl of Albermarle.
24. 8 Jan 1708 Receipt for purchase of horse from Nathaniel Parsley via Thomas Taylor who paid for it, by General Davenport.
25. 13 Dec 1709 List of horses delivered - old horses to old men, old horses to new men, new horses to old men and new horses to new men.
26. Undated report from the General Officers to the Queen regarding the complaint of Mrs Ann Tuthill, wife of Thomas Tuthill, accusing Brigadier General Davenport of appropriating money. The report found in favour of General Davenport citing that Thomas Tuthill was a horse thief condemned to death, he had agreed to the money paid to him, and that General Davenport received no money.
27. 7 Mar 1707 Memorial from officers to Colonel Davenport listing their grievances over the previous leadership, including being overcharged for clothing, favours to certain suppliers, scum being allowed to join the troop, no accounts being kept.
28. 1 Nov 1699 Letter to Munden from Thomas Sandford regarding William Davenport, son of his neighbour and brother of a major in the army, asking him to take care of him now he is in his squadron.
