Only bought 4 instead of 6 and 2 were not good enough. 7. 19 Nov 1715 Letter from Quartermaster Johnson, in Northampton, to Major General Davenport regarding the horses stating that he had disobeyed and bought a horse. Also that Robert Keys was going to write showing orders he was given by the Major. 8. 20 Nov 1715 Two letters. First from Robert Keys to the General stating that his spouse died and he employed someone else to buy the horses, with details of he horses. Second from D Renouard to Robert Keys saying he enclosed bank bills and wished him to buy 6 horses. 9. 5 Dec 1715 Letter from Quartermaster Johnson to Major General Davenport regarding his orders about horses and sending them on. Also stating that he had managed to change one of the horses from Robert Keys and that another had improved. Also stated that had taken horses, so not charged for care. 10. 24 Dec 1715 Letter from Quartermaster Johnson regarding transporting the horses, and the difficulties because of the weather, 3 horses having to be let off the boat but now waiting for the boat to Ireland. 11. 4 Nov 1715 Letter from Quartermaster Johnson to the General Davenport regarding horses he had purchased. 12. 29 Oct 1715 receipt by Quartermaster Johnson for £150 from Major General Davenport for the use of Captain Allen to purchase horses. 13. 5 Dec 1715 Letter from Robert Keys for Major General Davenport sating that he would be out of pocket if not paid; never had a dispute before; horses' suitability had been substantiated by others. 14. 26 Oct 1715 Letter from the Board of General Officers, Horseguards stating that all had to attend meeting to discuss dispute of precedency between Major Generals Sabine and Wynn. Inside, copies of 2 letters from General Davenport, one to Robert Keys saying that he felt that only 2 horses should be paid for and hoping that he will agree. The second to Quartermaster Johnson stating what he had told Mr Keys and also giving him directions about gently marching the horses to Holyhead. 15. 24 Apr 1719 Copy of statement of gold lace etc purchased from Mr Thomas Alexander stating that when it arrived in Ireland orders will be given for the remittance to be paid by the Officers. 16. 9 Apr 1719 Copy of the enlistment of Joseph Palmer as a trooper in the Prince of Wales's Own Royal Regiment of Horse with a promise that if he finds it unhealthy in Ireland he can be discharged.
