Description	The Davenports married the Talbots three times, and William Davenport (later William Davenport Talbot) inherited the Talbot estates through his mother Martha Davenport nee Talbot, in 1790 on her death. Davenport family papers mostly relate to William Davenport Talbot's grandfather Henry Davenport (died 1731) who built Davenport House in the 1720s. He was an important figure in the East India Company and many records of his relate to the Company and were kept rigidly by him.
