With (I) agreement to pay the bailiff of Stourton fair 2/6d for carrying on ‘some diversions’ on the third day, ‘such as Cudgiling or a plate to be run for over and above what the Lord of the Mannor may contribute towards it’, (ii) list, ‘Standings & Booths at ye fair ye 2d. and 4th. May 1724 – N.B that besides these ‘Standings & Booths, there was a great many more of both sorts yt had none at all & so sat up and down as they could’. |
