TitleLetter from Gwendoline
DescriptionShe had heard from Aunt Mary saying how Reginald had been suffering. She could not bear to think of him like that he was always so gay and spruce, she asks if he will get well enough to get about again. She went up to London yesterday and met Oliviay(?) and Bedrothin(?) - was upset and exhausted so could not get to her house - things go wrong sometimes - but she got to Aunt Mary's and found her looking frial and longed to stay and comfort her. She feels Nov 14 is a long way away as she wants to help with the church. (Oct 17th) She felt she had to stop writing yesterday as there were too many mistakes and puctuations and word left out. So much ought to be done - feels her hands are tied - they are such bad times, L & J can't help her - we are all together and that helps her - she says thanks to E for her letter. All she dreads is her appearance so she does not think of it. It is a strain living alone with Olivia.(Letter sent to Beaulieu, Hants, readdressed to Grantham)
