Title
Letter from Isla de la Marshe(?) Western Australia
Description
Very cross as has not rceived 'The Triumphant Footman' nor seen Times Literary Supplement reviews. Hope it is successful. Sorry to hear about the loss of the trees. Trees are destroyed in thousands in Australia - thousands of acres of farm without a tree. Salmon Gum Tree very beautiful. Australia going through economic depression so bad time to be starting out. Wool and wheat lower than they have been for years. Unemployment - even greater proportion than England. They are very happy and well, her health continues to be much better. Had to sacrifice her library subscription to economy this year. Father just sent her 'The World's Population Problems and a White Australia' by Wilkinson. Thanks EO for Readers Digest and New Statesman.
