Title
Letter from A R (B?), Sixpenny Handley, Salisbury
Description
Evidence of Monmouth's haunting of Woodyate Inn. Mrs and Miss Kirby reported distinct sounds of movement on the night of 15th July - no mention of hauntings before they came to live at the Inn. Duke of Monmouth stayed at the Inn on 8th July - old time. Lost his head on 15th July. Does not feel there is sufficient evidence for someone to visit next July. Has studied Monmouth and written about him - a poor mean character. Would like to attend the possible seance at Woodyates but fears it is not possible.
