Title
Letter from Canon Johnson Barker
Description
He was one of E's father's curates - does E remember him and William Johnson Barker? Since leaving Wilton he has kept in contact with some Wilton and Salisbury people:- Dr Thomson, one of Straton's assistants; Aldridge; Nash the organist who followed Ridley; Shortland who became vicar in the next parish; Archdeacon Carpenter; White, one of the Bishop's chaplains. He met E's sister at a tea party at Beaulieu when visiting his cousin Archibald Marshall at Lady Poole's house. Has returned to Wilton once but found it much changed and not for the better. Enclosed - St Margaret's Wolston Parish Magazine.
