Title
Letter from Cousin Gertrude
Description
Would have been Walter's 76th birthday. Glad that Walter's sad life is now over and he is united with his wife and son - she misses him though as she has no one of her generation to talk to about the past. 'Mr Walkley' made the Wilton days vivid for her - she never thought she would end up the maiden aunt of the Hunt family. Sybil is looking to set up a massage business - she only has a very small share from Walter's estate. Violet is earning good money as a matron in the Malay States so it is hoped she will leave Sybil her share. She and John were good friends with much in common, Tom is getting on but slowly - Dorothy is trying to get him to write his reminiscences.
