Title
Letter from Peter Lubbock - Government House, Sydney/Canberra
Description
Has been unwell but was well looked after by an American nurse who looked just like the Duchess of Windsor. They were shattered by news of the Duke of Kent's death and are in mourning until the end of the month. He gives news of Imma and Neil, and of the war in the Far East. He has met General MacArthur and his wife. He has met an English Admiral - Royle - who knows both Imma and the MacArthurs. They loved David's visit and hope his ship comes again - since Duff and Diana (Cooper) left, David has been their only visitor except Vincent Parariani who is lecturing on tank tactics.
