Replying to a crossed letter, she wanted to help but really can't as she has too much on. Relates how Richard was picked by the police for being drunk and in the car driving. Tells of friends party with a lot of drink. They took Richard to Oxford to a good barrister friend to help, the main penalty being imprisonment. It had been very difficult at the court but luckily he got away with £22.
