It contains copies of royal and other charters (including Magna Carta [1225] and the Forest charter, compositions, ordinances, etc., and was mostly written in the early 14th century, but with 15th and 16th century additions. Agreement between Mayor and commonalty and Bishop of Salisbury relating to the tenure of burgesses, appointment and duties of officers, administration of justice, assessment of taxation and regulation of trade, with separate list of citizens party to the agreement, 1306 (ff 154r-158r) copy of G23/1/222.
