| Title | Letters patent appointing the bishop and the dean justices of the peace for the Close, the area between Harnham Gate and Harnham Bridge, and the bishop's guildhall and gaol. The bishop is given permission to have a prison, either in the city or the Close, and to hold the sessions either in his guildhall or in the Close. The practice of any manual art or mystery in the Close, except for one carpenter, one glazier and one plumber, is forbidden.
