Evidence of John Bysie [Busie], Pomeroy in Wingfield, yeo, 44; has lived from birth; has known Baylie for 20 years and Kendall for 2 years: On 22 Oct 1603 he went with Henry Kendall and Richard Baylie, apparitor in the bishop’s court in Trowbridge, to an inn of John Bowes [the George in Baylie’s deposition]; Richard spoke of cases before the court and one about a servant of Mr Richard Baylie, who left bearing a child she said was of John Mathew, but Kendall thought Bailie had lain with her. Henry Powe, Freshford, Som, husbandman, 60; has lived there for half a year; born in Monkton Combe, Som; on Sunday after Michaelmas he came to Kendall’s house where he was working ‘at his Taylors crafte’; he left to go to church but Kendall did not attend church. Evidence of: Robert Graunger, Westport, husbandman, 60; has lived there for 20 years; born at Nunton: On Saturday a week or fortnight ago he saw Thomas Hobbes strike Reade in Malmesbury churchyard having accused him of excommunicating him, which Reade denied.
