Richard Bevan, curate, 70; has served there for 29 years; was born at Canon Pyon, Heref; has known Thynne for 29 years and Collett for 5. All tithes, except corn & hay, are due to the vicar of Bradford. Collett’s tenement is not part of the lands of the former chapel of St Audoen [St Tewens]. He has been farmer of the lesser tithes in the village of South Wraxall for 29 years, except for 3, for Mr [Thomas] Rede, vicar of Bradford. For these years Bevan has lived near St Audoen, the lands of which consist of; Barley [Barlowe] farm [one Fawkener’s in Paynter’s evidence], John Gibbins house, Henry Maltman’s house, the parsonage house and one Staples house.
Anthony Paynter, husbandman, 70; has lived there from birth; has known Thynne from childhood and Collett for 19 years. half of the tithe corn on Collett’s tenement is owed to Mr Thynne for St Audoen, and the other half to Mr Long, parson and farmer of the tithes of Bradford.
